Robert Bruce Foote Memorial Workshop on Lithic Technology: Applications are now closed and selected candidates have been informed. Thank you students, for your  positive response to our workshop.  Owing to both logistics and teaching goals, we chose only a limited number of students for this batch. However, keeping in mind, the response from you, we are scheduling another workshop later this year. Do watch this space for further announcements. 

Research News

• We are initiating new doctoral programs in archaeology in collaboration with universities-Watch this space.
• Our recent paper in Science (25th March,2011), based on our excavations at Attirampakkam, Tamil Nadu, pushes back the age of the Acheulian in India, to around 1.5 million years.
• Read about climate change at Attirampakkam using rock magnetic measurements.

We are a registered non-profit public educational trust (Estd.1999) specializing in research in the fields of South Asian archaeology, with a focus on prehistory, palaeoenvironments, anthropology and the history of archaeology in India. We run workshops for children and teachers and community heritage education programs in archaeology and related disciplines.
